Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been a Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for more than 20 years. She founded The Huffington Post and the director of Thrive Global. Author of over 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a journalist, writer, philanthropist and television host, and also the proprietor of The Huffington Post. Born in Greece Arianna Huffington emigrated to England with her family at the age of 16. While at Cambridge University she earned a MA qualification in Economics. As the first non-English speaking student, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. She became a conservative syndicated writer after her graduation. When The Huffington Post launched a year after, she created an online platform for voice with a critique of current the political landscape. The fame of her name helped to get a number of prominent contributors to share their opinions on politics news and culture. Arianna gained notoriety after she was elected as an independent candidate in the California recall election to succeed Governor Davis. Alongside this, she led an Detroit project that promoted fuel efficient cars. Forbes named her the most powerful woman in media in the year 2009. She ranked 12th on the list. The Guardian also included her on the list of 100 most influential media in 2009. AOL Inc. named her president of their media division in 2011 after they bought The Huffington Post. The Huffington Post included other AOL brands, including Engadget AOLmusic Style list as well as Patch Media. Elli has two siblings, Konstantinos Stasinopoulos and Elli the other, both of whom are management consultants and journalists. Even though she was close with father, her relationship with her mother shaped the course of her entire life. At an early age, she showed leadership abilities that remain highly respected. As a 16-year-old the girl moved into the United Kingdom for her higher education. In Girton College Cambridge. In the years of her university she joined Cambridge Union. Cambridge Union debating group where she became the first female president and only president from outside the country. In 1972, she graduated with the degree of Master in Economics. After graduation, she began working as a columnist critic and an anchor on TV. Her appearance in Face the music with Bernard Levin was a notable one. She started writing books and enlisting his assistance in editing.
